77% of Germans are ready to install solar panels on their roofs

The results of a survey conducted by the German Solar Association (Bundesverband Solarwirstchaft) showed that as many as 77% of property owners in Germany have a positive view of the possibility of installing solar panels on their roofs.

This is a confirmation of the trend according to which the demand for solar panels is fast growing in Germany for the fifth year in a row. According to BSW in 2023 that growth will again be double-digit. In the period from 2021 to 2022, the number of roof installations increased by as much as 40%. In terms of installed power, this increased capacity by 7.2 GW in 2022.

As the reasons for these impressive results, BSW cites the low cost of solar installations, increasingly better technical support for clients, and an improved situation with the supply of equipment. Based on all these positive indicators, the German clean energy sector is largely basing its future on solar installations in households.

The trend continues this year as well.

Germany’s Federal Network Agency reported 1,231 MW of new solar PV capacity additions in October 2023. It is now the 8th consecutive month to have installed over 1 GW PV capacity this year, taking 10M/2023 additions to 11.7 GW! At the end of October 2023 installed solar PC capacity reached 79,24 GW.
