Responsibilities and tasks:
Design and engineer solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, in accordance with German regulations, standards, and technical guidelines (e.g., DIN VDE, BSW-Solar, BDEW).
Site Assessment and Analysis:
Conduct site assessments to evaluate the solar potential of locations, analyze shading effects, assess structural suitability, and consider grid connection requirements.
System Sizing and Configuration:
Determine the optimal size and configuration of solar systems based on energy consumption, load requirements, available space, and financial considerations, while adhering to relevant feed-in tariff regulations.
Technical Documentation and Drawings:
Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation, including electrical schematics, equipment layouts, wiring diagrams, and system calculations, in compliance with German standards.
Performance Modeling and Simulation:
Use software tools (e.g. PV*SOL) to model and simulate the performance of solar systems, estimating energy production, system losses, and financial metrics such as internal rate of return (IRR) and payback period.
Component Selection and Procurement:
Select suitable solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, and other balance-of-system components, considering quality, reliability, efficiency, and compatibility with German grid requirements.
Permitting and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with German regulations and requirements for solar system installations, including obtaining necessary permits, grid connection agreements, and feed-in tariff applications.
